KamalabariSattra is the most significant and renowned place in Majuli. The KamalabariSattra was established in the year 1595 by Badala Ata, a celebrated disciple of Madhabdeva. Later, due to natural calamities, KamalabariSattra had to be relocated to Jorhat in the year 1975. This KamalabariSattra at Titabor is known as the old KamalabariSattra.
