The Titabor Co-District came into existence on 4th October, 2024 which is co-terminus with Titabor Revenue Circle comprising of four Mouzas namely Titabor, Amguri-Kharikatia, Borholla and Thengal. The development aspects of the rural areas of Titabor Co-District is looked after by Titabor Development Block covering 4 (four) Zilla Parishads and 26 (twenty six) Gaon Panchayats. The Titabor Municipal Board delivers service to the citizens of Titabor town.
The Co-District is bounded by Naga Hills on the South, Kakodunga river on the west, Teok river on the East, Soikota river on the North. The Headquarter of Titabor Co-District is at Titabor which is at a distance of 22 kms from Jorhat, the District Head Quarter. There are two major roads from the Co-District Headquarter to District Headquarter of Jorhat, one is Gar Ali and other is Na–Ali. The historical Dhodar Ali; a road constructed during the Ahom King Godadhar Singha runs through Titabor town and links it with Golaghat district and Jorhat district. Titabor Railway Station is in the heart of the town and the Jorhat Airport (Rowriah) which falls at the geographical boundary of Titabor Co-District is at a distance of 25 kms from Titabor town.
The economy of Titabor is based mainly on agriculture. The major agricultural product of the Co-District is paddy. Titabor is the granary of rice. Rice produced in Titabor is exported to other parts of the state as well as to the neighbouring states of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. The hundred-year-old Assam Agriculture University-Assam Rice Research Institute located in Titabor has contributed immensely towards increased production of rice in the entire region. Along with this, there is a Sericulture Training Institute in Titabor which has been the backbone for the indigenous weavers of the region. The products of Eri, Muga and Silk from the region have found markets not only across the state but also across the country. 38 (Thirty Eight) big and medium sized Tea gardens have been contributed not only to the economy of Titabor Co-District but also to its greenery and beauty bringing in scope for tea-tourism in the Co-District.
The Titabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital has been relentlessly working for the wellbeing of the people of the region by imparting medical and health facilities to the rural as well as the urban population of Titabor.
